Juliana DeVries is an appellate attorney licensed in DC and California. She focuses on criminal defense and civil liberties cases. She is also a staff attorney at the Samuelson Law, Technology & Public Policy Clinic at UC Berkeley School of Law.
Before opening her own practice, Juliana was in the Supreme Court & Appellate Group at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld. She previously served as an Assistant Federal Public Defender in San Francisco.
Juliana clerked for Justice Leondra Kruger on the California Supreme Court and for Judge Alex Kozinski on the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
Her work has been published in The Nation, The Boston Globe, the Berkeley Journal of Criminal Law, Court Review, The Champion, and elsewhere.
